Are you the next Lange Girl?

In 1962, Bob Lange helped usher in the era of high-tech, modern ski equipment when he introduced the plastic ski boot, which was a radical departure from the leather boots of his day.

In 1970, Bob Lange made ski boots sexy, with the introduction of the first Lange Girl.

Though they haven’t always come from the ski industry, the most famous recent Lange Girl was none other than Julia Mancuso, who won two silver medals at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

And now it’s your chance. This winter, Lange is looking for four Lange Girls to represent them in different regions of the country. You don’t have to be a supermodel, but you do have to be a super skier. The criteria:

“The Local Lange Girl program was designed to find a few strong women who would inspire others to have more fun with their skiing and, hopefully, with life in general,” explains Tait Wardlaw, Lange’s VP, Brand and Sports Marketing.

Lange is looking for girls who are outgoing enough to represent the brand, ripping enough to get around any ski area, and sexy enough to keep the Lange Girl tradition going strong.

There are plenty of women at Ski Butternut who can school the boys on the slopes any day, and look good doing it too. So will the next Lange Girl call Ski Butternut her home mountain?

  1. This is outdated, crass, and vaguely offensive. Unsettling at the very least. Stick to what you’re good at Butternut- being a fantastic family ski mountain.
