We Love New York

Ok, though we’re wicked proud of the Berkshires and fiercely loyal to Massachusetts*, we gotta admit it: We love New York, too.

We love New York because it’s an easy 2.5 hour drive from New York City to Ski Butternut.

We love New York because, like Sarah Palin says, we can see the state from our mountaintop, and it looks like a nice place from up there.

We love New York because Four Brothers Pizza Inn has eight locations there, and was kind enough to make one exception, their location right here in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.

And we love New York because New York City is hosting the 1st Annual SNOW Film Festival starting tomorrow!

Over the course of 2 days (Friday November 19 and Saturday November 20), 24 ski and snowboard films will be shown at Tribeca Cinemas in Manhattan. The creators of this festival are declaring it the greatest number of snowsports films ever shown in one place at one time (all the more impressive that it takes place in a city not known for its skiing).

So, if you happen to be one of our many customers who calls New York City home, we encourage you to check this out and get psyched for the winter to come. And, if you’re not from New York City, it sure sounds like it’s worth the trip. (Just like the scenic drive from New York City to Ski Butternut is always worth the trip.)

(*Like Switzerland, we have terrific skiing, and we are officially neutral on the whole Yankees vs. Red Sox debate. Also, like Switzerland, these are both due to our unique geography.)
