Fame and Fortune

Did you love watching the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics as much as I did? Have you always wanted the chance to meet and mingle with members of the US Ski Team and US Snowboard Team? Do you have at least $500 to spare (and another $500 for me, pretty please)?

On Wednesday, October 6, the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) will hold its 2010 New England Ski and Snowboard Ball in Boston. The event helps raise money for the nonprofit USSA, which organizes and sponsors ski and snowboard programs from junior racing leagues all the way up to elite international athletes. Tickets to the evening’s festivities start at $500 for a single admission, but go all the way up to $25,000 for a group of 16, complete with a special VIP pre-party with the athletes.

Not fancy enough for you? You can kick it up a notch in New York City, at the 2010 New York Ski and Snowboard Ball on Thursday, November 4. This event is hosted by 1998 Olympic gold medalist Jonny Moseley, with scheduled appearances by Olympic gold medalists Lindsey Vonn and Bode Miller. Admission to this event starts at a pricier $1,500 per person, but for $25,000 (or more), you can score a table for 10 seated with one of the Olympic athletes (I assume you’ll save a seat for me, in exchange for sharing this tip with you).
