Eatin’ Good in the Neighborhood

Great Barrington and surrounding towns are home to a number of great restaurants, a long – but by no means comprehensive – list of which you can find on our website. Many offer discounts or specials for Butternut ticket and season pass holders, as indicated on our website. Thanks to an abundance of nearby farms, most source at least some of their ingredients locally, and a few participate in the “Berkshire Grown” program, specializing in local cuisine.

To the list, we add three newcomers:

Gypsy Joynt – 413-644-8811 – Locally grown organic ingredients are used to produce an incredible selection of items; gourmet pizzas, oven-baked focaccia bread sandwiches, stromboli, calzones, gypsy sandwich treasures. They also offer live music.

Perigee Restaurant – 413-394-4047 – Lee’s newest fine dining destination & the birthplace of Berkshire Cuisine: seasonal menus, New England favorites, ethnic dishes, comfort food & local flavors in a 19th century Colonial combining rural charm & cosmopolitan chic. Show a Ski Butternut lift ticket, ski pass or employee pass and receive a FREE dessert with meal purchase.

Monte Alban – 413-528-8566 – Brand new Mexican restaurant in the old Helsinki location in the downtown alley in Great Barrington. Serving food all day, with late-night drink and food specials after 10PM.

And I’ve noticed a few omissions, all right in downtown GB, added here:

Napa Wine Bar and Restaurant – 413-528-4311 – Owner Heidi Handel wants a comfortable, relaxing and inviting place where her customers can eat excellent, affordable food. Live entertainment every Friday night, too.

20 Railroad – 413-528-9345 – “20” is a neighborhood bar, with lots of beers on tap, and a menu featuring burgers, salads, and bar food.

The Well – 413-528-3651 – Go down the stairs to find sumptuous salads, juicy burgers, wild wings, fine wines, and a full bar with quality draft and bottled beers.
